We are Hestia. We make a difference.
At Hestia, we are guided by our core values and are dedicated to fostering an equitable, diverse, and inclusive organisation. Our mission is to empower individuals to rebuild their lives and achieve independence. Right now, we are looking for a Pool Worker to play a pivotal role in our Complex Needs Service in RCH Coxley House.
Sounds great, what will I be doing?
Coxley House is a registered care home providing 24‑hour accommodation for up to 13 adults with mental health needs, referred through Social Services. With 13 comfortable ensuite rooms and a dedicated team, we work in partnership with each resident to create personalised care plans that reflect their goals, strengths and wellbeing needs. Our approach centres on recovery, co‑production and meaningful engagement, supporting individuals with everything from health management and appointments to building social connections and confidence. As part of our team, you will play a key role in delivering compassionate, person‑centred support and interventions that uphold our organisational values and help residents move forward with dignity and independence.
What do I need to bring with me?
You'll need to be able to demonstrate the core skills this role requires as well as match our values and mission. You don't have to tick all the boxes right away; the important thing is that you're willing to learn. We also value lived experience of the areas we support, so if you feel comfortable, please do mention this on your application.
Here's what the team will be looking for:
We are looking for a confident and compassionate individual who can create a safe, supportive and engaging environment for adults experiencing mental health challenges. You will be a natural “people person,” able to build rapport quickly and communicate with clarity, patience and empathy, even when clients are distressed or in crisis. Strong interpersonal skills and a calm, professional telephone manner are essential, alongside the ability to remain composed and provide effective de‑escalation during high‑stress situations.
You will bring experience or understanding of mental health needs, including supporting individuals on the autism spectrum, and be able to adapt your approach to meet diverse and complex needs. A key part of the role involves leading and facilitating meaningful activities that promote well‑being, confidence and social connection, so creativity and enthusiasm in this area are highly valued.
Above all, you will be someone who demonstrates genuine care, empathy and respect, committed to delivering non‑judgmental, person‑centred support that empowers vulnerable individuals to feel safe, understood and included.
