The vacancy
The NHS Alliance’s policy and analysis team shapes national policy and influences decision makers through evidence, expertise and member insight. We connect members with policymakers, provide credible analysis and practical solutions, and strengthen our members’ collective voice to support the best possible care.
We are looking for two policy managers to play a crucial delivery role in developing and advocating The NHS Alliance’s policy objectives. You will help to analyse policy developments and manage projects to influence and translate government policy on behalf of members. You will contribute your expertise to work being carried out across the organisation, and with external partners to deliver impactful policy outcomes for our members.
As a policy manager you will:

Develop and deliver member-informed influencing plans, produce credible recommendations for national policymakers and respond quickly to emerging issues.

Monitor and analyse policy developments and brief internal and external stakeholders to promote NHS Alliance positions and provide insight.

Ensure policy alignment and coherence – contribute to policy work across The NHS Alliance, ensuring outputs are consistent with wider organisational priorities and positions.

Deliver projects and defined programmes – scope, plan and manage key projects.

Manage strategic relationships – develop and maintain relationships with members, partners and stakeholders, facilitating collaboration and joint policy or delivery initiatives.

Support organisational sustainability and growth – contribute to membership recruitment and retention, business planning and the development of commercial and contract opportunities and income streams.
About you
You will have experience and expertise in policy development and influencing, health sector insight, communication, stakeholder engagement and project management as well as:

experience of managing policy research, analysis or influencing projects with internal and external partners.

excellent written and verbal communication skills for policy audiences, including producing briefings, thought leadership and consultation responses, and presenting at events, in-person or online.

demonstrable a proven ability to develop and manage effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders to achieve policy and influencing objectives.

experience managing engagement channels such as stakeholder forums, events, roundtables and structured interviews.
