PMO Officer

At UK Biobank, delivering complex programmes requires strong collaboration, clear governance, and well-coordinated project teams. Our PMO function helps ensure that initiatives are planned effectively, risks are managed, and projects progress smoothly across the organisation. 

We’re now looking for a PMO Officer to help support the successful delivery of these projects and programmes. This role will play an important part in ensuring that project governance, planning, and reporting processes are applied consistently across the portfolio.

Can you do it?

You will be responsible for:

  • Contributing as an active member of project teams to support delivery and programme success.
  • Assisting project managers with the production and maintenance of project documentation.
  • Acting as a subject matter guide on the UK Biobank Project Framework and advisingproject managerss when required.
  • Maintaining risk and issue logs, change control records, and assurance documentation.
  • Supporting stakeholder communication and engagement activities across projects.
  • Taking ownership of assigned workstreams or projects as directed by the PMO manager.



Is this you?

To be successful, you will have:

  • Experience working collaboratively with colleagues, suppliers, and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • The ability to work independently while keeping stakeholders informed of progress.
  • A proactive, collaborative approach to teamwork.
  • Experience supporting change management or business transformation initiatives.

This role has an option for part-time or full-time hours.

Working hours are 35-hours per week, Monday to Friday with some flexibility, 3 days onsite with hybrid working available. Located in Greater Manchester (initially based in Stockport with a move to Manchester Science Park mid to late 2026).
