The Premier League Football Department are recruiting for the exciting new role of Planning and Operations Executive. The Football Department is responsible for both the delivery of the long-term strategic plans for the development of Home Grown Talent and the delivery of world-class football operations. To support continued success and improvement in these areas, we are looking to recruit an Executive to work with colleagues across the department and wider business to coordinate project management, planning and operational delivery.
The Planning and Operations Executive will work in the Football Department’s Strategic Projects and Planning team, focusing on project management and planning. This includes: tracking and evaluating projects, department planning across Football Development, Operations and Administrations teams, risk and budget management, event support and the production of documentation to meet Board and Shareholder requirements.

We support and provide a framework for youth development, we protect the organisation’s intellectual property, support the wider game and community programmes, undertake international development work and liaise with governing bodies and other leagues.

Our hybrid-working model also allows you some variety on your place of work, offering you the chance to work from home on some days each week. Where possible, you will attend the office or site visits in line with our company policy. All staff liaise closely with their line manager to manage their time appropriately and according to their work and team requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate project tracking processes and report on progress against priorities.
- Support and align processes that support planning across the Football Department, including supporting budgeting across workstreams.
- Coordinate departmental calendar management, ensuring alignment of activities across cross-functional teams.
- Work closely with colleagues across Football Department teams to enhance internal communication and information sharing.
- Support the planning, logistics and delivery of key department events including Football Department team meetings.
- Coordinate the delivery of the Premier League’s annual Youth Development Conference and other key events.
- Provide support for internal and external meetings, including scheduling and the management of notes/actions.
- Support the delivery of annual football department report and preparation of presentations and reports as required.
- Assist with the management of departmental risks on through the Premier League platform.
- Provide administrative support where necessary including contracts, tender processes and supplier management.
- Take the lead on the initiation, planning and delivery of discrete initiatives/ projects as required.
Requirements for the role:
- Project management qualification and/or experience utilising project management tools.
- Experience of managing multiple concurrent projects / programmes, ideally with variety of project focus.
- Budget management and reporting experience.
- Delivered written reports or proposals for consideration by senior management.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.
- Able to synthesise and clearly present with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable working in an agile way and in high pressure environments.
- Self-motivated and goal-oriented.
- Team player with high emotional intelligence, who seeks and acts on feedback.
