We are looking for a caring, reliable, and enthusiastic Personal Assistant to support my 16-year-old Grandson with daily activities and social outings. He is a wheelchair user and lives with Cerebral Palsy and Epilepsy.
He is a friendly and sociable young person who enjoys jigsaw puzzles, jenga, connect 4 and monopoly. He loves swimming, bowling and going to the shops. He enjoys going to McDonalds to eat too.
Role Responsibilities:
- Assisting with personal care when required
- Supporting him to access the community (e.g. lunch outings, social activities, bus rides)
- Pick-up and drop-off from Holiday Hub and respite services when required
- Administering medication when needed
- Providing companionship and encouraging independence
About You:
- Reliable, trustworthy, and punctual
- Able to follow instructions while also using your own initiative
- Compassionate, patient, and positive in your approach
- Experience supporting individuals with epilepsy is essential
- A full UK driving licence is desirable (access to a family car may be provided for outings)
Additional Information:
- Training can be provided, including sliding board transfers
- Experience supporting wheelchair users or people with physical disabilities is beneficial but not essential.
