Personal Assistant

 

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

I am an elderly lady living in the Splott area of Cardiff. I live with my daughter who provides a lot of support. I have a diagnosis of Alzheimers and due to this I can be stubborn at times, but I do have a great sense of humour.

PURPOSE OF JOB

To ensure I am safe at all times.

To maintain personal hygiene.

To provide companionship.

PLACE OF WORK

In my home and out in the community.

HOURS OF WORK

I am looking for a small team of Personal Assistants to cover my main hours and cover for annual leave and sickness.

18.5 Hours per week consisting of -

12.15pm 5 x 45 minute lunch calls Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

5 x 45 minute evening calls Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

4.45pm 2 x 1 hour evening calls Tuesday and Thursday (To include lift home from my daughters).

9am – 10am 1 Hour Saturday late morning.

2 Hours per week Laundry

6 Hours per week social.

RATE OF PAY

 

£14.90 per hour.

 

TASKS INVOLVED

 

  • Light domestic duties.
  • Personal care.
  • Transporting me home.

 

TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED

 

  • Someone friendly and sociable.
  • Someone who is trustworthy.
  • Someone who is reliable and a good timekeeper.
  • Someone who can work using their initiative.
  • Care owner and driver is essential.
  • Someone who has completed first aid training, not essential but preferrable.

ABOUT THE JOB

Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted.  A probation period will be necessary in the first instance.  Wages will be paid 4 weekly.  You will receive 5.6 weeks paid holiday (pro rata). You will be required to apply for a DBS check at no expense to you. Support cannot be carried out in the personal assistant’s own home.
