Are you passionate about music education and excited by the opportunity to help young students engage in music? We’re looking for inspiring and skilled Music Teachers to join our vibrant team and bring music to life through engaging lessons that spark curiosity and confidence.
Percussion Teacher – Maternity Cover (predominantly in the HD7 & HD3 areas)
For this role, you will need to be proficient in drum kit, have knowledge of Djembe whole class drumming, and be able to commit to 11 hours a week (could increase dependent on demand) of dedicated one-to-one, small-group and Whole-Class Instrumental Teaching sessions in a variety of Kirklees school settings, predominantly in the Colne Valley and Huddersfield areas, including an after-school session.

You will require an Enhanced DBS, and you will need to be able to transport yourself between different schools during each working day.
Responsibilities:
- Delivering high-quality drum kit and percussion lessons to students of all ages and skill levels
- Plan effective lessons
- Inspire students to develop a love for music and a lifelong passion for playing percussion
- Preparing students for performances, competitions, and exams
- Following administrative and reporting procedures
Requirements:
- Proven experience teaching percussion to students of varying abilities
- Proficiency in music theory and percussion skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Enthusiasm for working with children and adults
- Flexibility to travel to different schools within Kirklees
- Have a commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion
Guitar Teacher – Maternity Cover (predominantly in the HD8 area)
For this role, you will need to be proficient in guitar and be able to commit to 7 hours (over two days) per week of dedicated one-to-one, small-group, whole-class instrumental teaching and after-school groups and be capable of teaching classical, ukulele, acoustic and beginner electric guitar in a variety of Kirklees school settings, predominantly in the Shelley area, throughout the length of the cover period.
