People & Belonging Adviser
Working closely with the Head of People, People Business Partner and People Operations Coordinator, the People & Belonging Adviser provides generalist support across the full range of people activities, coupled with expertise and leadership in Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEI&B).
The role requires someone who is comfortable operating as a trusted People generalist, able to support and respond to organisational needs. Alongside this, the role holds a preferred area of expertise in DEI&B, supporting the implementation of agreed inclusion priorities and ensuring they are sustained over time.
What we are looking for:
Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging
- Deliver and embed agreed DEI&B priorities and actions, translating strategy into practical and achievable activity across the Trust
- Support the implementation of the Trust’s Anti-racism and inclusion commitments, ensuring they are reflected in people practices, training and communications
- Provide operational and data-led support for DEI&B activity, including monitoring representation, engagement and inclusion-related metrics
- Work collaboratively with internal groups, champions and stakeholders to support inclusive practice across teams
Learning, Development & Capability
- Lead the integration and ongoing development of the Trust’s learning platforms, including LinkedIn Learning
- Support the delivery of a competency-based learning and development framework, aligned to organisational priorities
- Coordinate leadership, management and staff learning activities, ensuring programmes are delivered as planned and participation is accurately monitored.
- Use learning data and feedback to inform continuous improvement
Wellbeing, Communication & Engagement
- Own the monthly People Team newsletter (on WordFly), sharing staff updates as well as curating wellbeing and calendar content to keep communications engaging and accessible across the Trust
- Support the maintenance and continuous improvement of the People Hub intranet, ensuring it functions as the Trust’s source of people policies, guidance and internal information
Inclusive Recruitment
- Support inclusive recruitment practices by being a superuser of our ATS (Pinpoint), administering and coordinating recruitment activity providing guidance and support to hiring managers throughout the recruitment process
People Priorities
- Operate as an HR generalist within the team, flexing across people operations, employee relations support, learning, wellbeing and engagement activity as required
- Provide operational support across general People matters, including acting as an escalation point for the People Operations Coordinator for more complex People inbox queries
- Build trusted relationships across the Trust through credibility, consistency and a values-led approach
- Proactively identify opportunities to strengthen DEI&B and employee experience through practical, deliverable improvements
Skills, knowledge & expertise required for the role:
Experience:
Essential
- Experience working in a People / HR generalist role, supporting a broad range of people activities
- Practical experience supporting or delivering DEI&B, embedded within day-to-day people practice rather than standalone projects
- Experience coordinating or administering learning and development activity, including managing platforms, tracking participation and supporting programme delivery
- Experience supporting employee engagement and communications, such as newsletters, intranet content and staff communications
- Experience working in the arts, culture, heritage or creative sector, or a similarly values led organisation
Skills:
- Strong People (HR) generalist knowledge, with the confidence to support across a wide range of people matters
- A working understanding of UK employment law and the ability to apply policy and process pragmatically
- Credibility and confidence to act as a trusted adviser, building effective relationships with colleagues and managers
- High level of organisation and attention to detail
- Ability to use data and insight to inform activity, spot trends and support continuous improvement
- Confidence working with digital tools and systems, including HRIS, learning platforms and Microsoft tools
