Part-time Teacher of Learning Support (Approximately 46% FTE)

Working within our dedicated and supportive Learning Support Department, you will be an inspirational and well-qualified practitioner with a strong commitment to inclusive education. You will have experience in supporting students with a range of learning needs, particularly in developing literacy skills across Key Stages 3 to 5, and a passion for enabling all students to achieve their full potential.
The successful candidate will deliver targeted literacy support to individuals and small groups, addressing needs such as dyslexia, reading comprehension, and written expression. You will work closely with classroom teachers to plan and implement effective interventions, develop and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs), and contribute to a culture of high expectations and student engagement.
You will play a key role in promoting a positive attitude to learning, helping students to develop independence, confidence, and effective learning strategies. The role also includes liaising with parents, carers, and external specialists, maintaining accurate records, and supporting exam access arrangements in line with current regulations.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Learning Support and teaching staff across the school to ensure that all students are able to access the curriculum and make strong progress.
The ideal candidate will hold a recognised qualification in Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD), such as a Level 5 or Level 7 qualification in Dyslexia or Literacy Intervention, and have experience of working with secondary-aged students in a learning support context. A willingness to contribute to staff training and the wider life of the school is essential.
