Parish Administrator, Meon Valley, part-time

Introduction

The Meon Valley Parishes are seeking a friendly, organised and proactive individual to provide administrative support to clergy and parish leadership across our churches.

This is a varied and rewarding role, acting as a key point of contact for parishioners and the wider community, while supporting parish administration, communications, safeguarding processes, meetings and day-to-day church operations. The role helps enable our clergy to focus on ministry and mission across the benefices.

This opportunity is offered on a self-employed contractor basis for an initial three-year term, with an annual review of the arrangement and terms. The successful individual will invoice the Meon Valley Parishes for services provided and will be responsible for their own tax and National Insurance arrangements.

Key Details

We are looking for someone with excellent administrative, organisational and communication skills, strong IT experience, a high level of discretion, and sympathy with the values and mission of the Church of England.

For full details of the role, responsibilities, contractor arrangements and person specification, please see the attached Role Description and Person Specification document.

Safeguarding and Safer Recruitment

The Meon Valley Parishes are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. We expect all those providing services on our behalf to share this commitment. As part of our safer recruitment process, the successful contractor will be required to provide satisfactory references, complete relevant safeguarding training and undergo an Enhanced DBS check appropriate to the role before services commence. This appointment is subject to safeguarding checks and compliance with the safeguarding policies and procedures of the Church of England and the Diocese of Portsmouth
