What we’re looking for
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Painting Inspector to join our project team responsible for the fabrication, inspection, and preservation activities of an Offshore Substation Topside and Jacket structure. The selected candidate will ensure that all surface preparation, coating application, and preservation activities are performed in compliance with project specifications, international standards, and client requirements.

A Fixed term contract of 2 years
The role
- Perform inspection and surveillance of surface preparation and painting/coating activities for offshore topside and jacket structures.
- Verify compliance with project specifications, coating manufacturer's requirements, and applicable international standards.
- Conduct inspections including:
- Surface cleanliness assessment
- Surface profile measurements
- Environmental condition monitoring
- Wet Film Thickness (WFT) measurements
- Dry Film Thickness (DFT) measurements
- Adhesion testing
- Holiday testing and coating continuity check
- Coating Procedure Test (CPT)
- Review and approve coating work procedures, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and quality documentation.
- Witness contractor and subcontractor coating activities and testing.
- Ensure proper storage, handling, and application of coating materials.
- Raise non-conformance reports (NCRs) and follow up on corrective actions.
- Prepare daily inspection reports, surveillance reports, and final quality dossiers.
- Coordinate with QA/QC, Construction, Client, and Third-Party Inspectors regarding coating and preservation matters.
- Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with HSE requirements and offshore project standards.
What you bring
- Certified FROSIO Level III Inspector or AMPP (formerly NACE) Certified Coatings Inspector Level 2 or Level 3
- Minimum 5 years of painting/coating inspection experience in offshore oil & gas, marine, offshore wind, or heavy industrial projects.
- Demonstrated experience inspecting coatings for offshore substations, topsides, jackets, FPSOs, platforms, or similar offshore structures.
- Good knowledge of: ISO 12944
- NORSOK M-501
- SPC Standards
- ASTM Coating Inspection Standards
- ISO 8501 Surface Preparation Standards
- Other Relevant ISO Standards to Coating and Corrosion Protection
- VGBE-S-021-03-202395-EN Standards
- Ability to interpret project specifications, coating procedures, and engineering drawings.
