The Role

We are now recruiting for an experienced Office Manager to join our Carlisle office and wider Administration Service Line.

This position is fully office based and the successful candidate will be contracted to work 37.5 hours per week (08:30 until 17:00, Monday to Friday, with a one hour unpaid lunchbreak per day).
 

The main elements of this role will include:

  • Ensuring staff within the Administration team are fully competent and proficient to carry
    out their designated role, ensuring they have training and support as necessary
  • Undertaking formal performance appraisals of Administrative staff alongside the Head
    Operations
  • Ensuring the smooth running of the office by assisting office members with any queries /
    issues, and ensuring these are dealt with in an efficient and timely manner
  • Liaising with the Property Manager with regards to issues connected with the office and
    assisting with actioning any further property related tasks when required
  • Liaising with HR and the Health & Safety Committee on all Health & Safety Matters, and
    completing associated tasks
  • Acting as a Database Administrator - overseeing and assisting with any projects as required

The Candidate

In order to fulfil the responsibilities of the position, we would like candidates to be / have:

  • Exemplary communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Great timekeeping ability
  • Experience of using IT systems, and be competent with using standard Microsoft Packages (Microsoft Teams, Word and Excel etc)
  • Experience of line managing Administrative staff, and completing relevant line management duties (including 1-1s, appraisals and reviews etc)
  • Excellent organisation and prioritisation skills
  • Previous office / administrative working experience
  • A friendly manner when liaising with any colleague / visitor / client and ensuring they are made to feel comfortable when visiting Armstrong Watson premises
