About the role
At National Star, we're looking to further strengthen our Occupational Therapy team with an experienced leader who can ensure the delivery of high-quality, person-centred therapy that enables learners to maximise their independence, achieve their EHCP outcomes and work towards their long-term aspirations.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys combining hands-on clinical practice with team leadership, service development and mentoring others.
About the role
As Occupational Therapy Manager based at our Ullenwood site on the outskirts of Cheltenham, you will lead the day-to-day management of the Occupational Therapy team across all our sites in Cheltenham, Hereford, Worcester and South Wales.
Alongside maintaining your own clinical caseload, you'll oversee assessments and interventions, support workforce planning and staff development, and ensure that we continue to focus on quality improvement across the service. You'll work collaboratively with colleagues from across education, care and therapy services to ensure learners receive a joined-up, outcome-focused approach that supports their health, wellbeing and independence.
The role also offers the opportunity to contribute to the development of specialist areas of practice, support placements and apprenticeships, promote continuing professional development within the team, and help shape the future direction of Occupational Therapy services at National Star.
About you
You'll be a qualified Occupational Therapist registered with the HCPC, with significant post-registration experience and a passion for supporting young people with complex needs. You'll already have some leadership / management experience and be confident in providing clinical guidance and support.
We're looking for someone with excellent communication and organisational skills, strong clinical reasoning and a collaborative approach. You will enjoy developing others, driving high standards of practice and working as part of a multidisciplinary team to achieve the best possible outcomes for learners.
Why join National Star?
National Star is a specialist organisation with a strong reputation for changing lives through education, care and support. You'll be joining a dedicated and experienced team committed to helping young people achieve greater independence, confidence and opportunity.
In return, we offer ongoing professional development, opportunities to further develop your leadership skills, a supportive working environment and the chance to make a genuine difference every day.
If you're ready to combine clinical excellence with leadership and help shape the future of Occupational Therapy at National Star, we'd love to hear from you.
