About the role
National Star is looking for enthusiastic and efficient Front of House Assistants to join our team on a bank basis to help us ensure that we are able to maintain a full food and drink service to internal and external customers during our busy times or to help us cover for staff absences.
Based at National Star in Ullenwood on the outskirts of Cheltenham, we have a staff minibus that runs from central Cheltenham and central Gloucester or plenty of parking on site if you prefer to drive.
Unusually for a hospitality role, our shifts are mostly Monday to Friday very occasionally special evening events or at weekends. Your shifts may vary but will generally fall between 8 am and 5pm.
StarBistro is no ordinary eating establishment – we have recently been named Tripadvisor 2025 Travellers’ Choice Award Winner and we work tirelessly to provide an excellent service to our customers as well as a training opportunity for our students.
A group of enthusiastic students with disabilities are using StarBistro as the training ground for their future careers. They work in the kitchen, front of house and behind the scenes to develop their hospitality and customer service skills.
Working as an important part of the team, you will perform various front of house duties with occasional help in the kitchen with basic food preparation to support our chefs. You will also be working along side and helping to support our students who are completing their work placements.
Previous experience in a front of house / hospitality catering role (ideally in residential care or school environment) is required for this role . Whilst we would expect you to have a Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate don’t worry if you haven’t got experience mentoring young people with disabilities. We’re experts in this field and will be happy to teach and support you.

We are looking for a Front of House Team Leader who will not only help us to provide the highest standard of food and drink service to our internal and external customers by managing the day to day running of the service but will also be an inspirational mentor to provide on the job training for our learners who have a range of physical and/ or learning disabilities to participate in daily Front of House and some related kitchen working practices.
Unusually for a hospitality role, whilst we expect you to be willing to help out very occasionally at special evening events or at weekends, the role is mostly Monday to Friday. Your shifts may vary but will generally fall between 8 am and 5pm working mostly term time, plus an extra 4 weeks to help us cover staffing and special events.
With previous Front of House and staff supervision experience, you’ll need to be a motivated self-starter and a first-class team player. You will be able to balance priorities and work under pressure whilst maintaining a positive and professional attitude.
Whilst we would expect you to have a Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate don’t worry if you haven’t got experience mentoring young people with disabilities. We’re experts in this field and will be happy to teach and support you.

Join the highly respected team of Personal Learning Coordinators at National Star on the outskirts of Cheltenham. We have a full-time parental leave cover position within our team for a period of up to 12 months.
Multi-disciplinary work will be critical in your role so that you can ensure students maximise their learning, boosting their independence and wellbeing to prepare them for life after college. A large part of your role will involve liaising with internal colleagues, external professionals and students’ families, as well as monitoring, recording and optimising the progress of learners.
It will be your job co-ordinate and be responsible for high quality and stimulating learning programmes for students with a range of physical and learning disabilities working towards personalised EHCP outcomes and from pre-entry to level 1 accreditation, with a focus on achievable and realistic learning targets across the curriculum and recognising progress through the RARPA framework.
As a qualified teacher, or already working towards a level 5 teaching qualification, your previous teaching experience will ideally be in a Special Education Needs (SEN) environment working with people with complex learning difficulties and disabilities such as ASC and/ or profound and multiple learning difficulties or severe learning difficulties.
It also goes without saying that you will be a first-class communicator, who is creative, proactive and forward-thinking with excellent organisational skills.

The Night Lead Facilitator will support the Residential Deputy Night Manager in the successful running of all the residences on campus during the night by ensuring that the highest standards of care are provided to the service users, as well as ensuring the optimum health and wellbeing of service users at all times

Ensuring team members are working efficiently and effectively taking into account service user night requirements whilst adhering to staffing budgets. Managing staff breaks, Undertake Care Audits on colleagues. Deliver all aspects of personal care during the night to our service users in accordance with National Star standards and individual care plans. To include, Washing, Dressing, Maintaining personal appearance, Toileting & continence support, Mouth, nail, and foot care.
You will be a strong leader and hold a minimum qualification of Level 3 or equivalent in Health and Social Care.

Our Ullenwood campus located at the top of Leckhampton Hill, is looking for a Senior / Lead Care and Support Worker to support the management team of a specific residential area.
There is no such thing as a typical student at National Star. They have a range of physical and learning disabilities and different hopes and aspirations for the future. From personalised care to simply being there, you will support the students at college and pursue their hobbies, learn life skills such as cooking and laundry and lead a busy and active life.
Your first-class people skills will help you to lead a team of care workers, working together to provide a high standard of individualised care, promoting and encouraging our residents’ personal independence. After a comprehensive induction into how we work at National Star, you will be able to work on your own initiative and be able to plan and organise effectively.
We’re anticipating that you will have at least two year’s care experience, and for this role it is essential that you have supported residents with a learning and/or physical disability. It is also important that you have a Level 3 qualification in health or social care.
Internal candidates are expected to be either a current specialist or advanced Facilitator and hold a level 2 diploma in Health & Social Care.

About the role
It goes without saying that you will be able to build strong relationships with key external and internal stakeholders as a key part of your role will be supplier relationship management to ensure that we source best value products and services, efficiently and sustainably. You will also work closely with various teams across National Star, advising and supporting them with procurement matters.
Attention to detail, strong administration / organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks are vital as your responsibilities will include updating procurement systems, tracking order progress and liaising with internal stakeholders and suppliers to deal with enquiries and resolve queries, ensuring that all relevant details are included, approvals are in place and goods arrive on time.
Supporting the Procurement Manager, you will also use your analytical and reporting skills to help produce monthly summaries and metrics, monitoring supplier performance and looking at ways of helping us to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
The ideal candidate is likely to have work experience in a procurement role or an administration role supporting a procurement / purchasing team. You will be self-motivated with a “can do” approach to practical and creative problem solving. Above all you will enjoy being able to make a positive contribution to a busy team.

About the role
Key responsibilities include:
Carry out wet and dry cleaning of accommodation and communal areas, including bathrooms, kitchens, offices and windows.
Empty bins regularly.
Follow daily, weekly and termly cleaning schedules including deep cleans.
Use cleaning equipment and materials safely and appropriately.
The role is full time 37hours weekly across the full year typical hours are Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm.
If you have previous housekeeping or cleaning experience and are reliable, motivated and able to work independently we want to hear from you! This role will give you the chance to make a real difference every day.
