Lead. Influence. Innovate. Transform care for people living with frailty.
St Christopher’s Hospice is looking for an exceptional Consultant Nurse (Frailty and Dementia) to join our senior clinical leadership team and help shape the future of specialist palliative and end‑of‑life care.
This is a rare opportunity to work at the highest level of nursing practice, combining expert clinical leadership, strategic influence, education and research, while making a tangible difference to people living with frailty, complex illness and vulnerability.
About the role
As Consultant Nurse (Frailty), you will be a visible expert clinical leader, working with a high degree of autonomy and authority across our community, virtual ward and inpatient services.
You will:
- Lead and advance frailty‑focused palliative care practice, ensuring care is person‑centred, evidence‑based and equitable
- Provide consultant‑level clinical expertise to patients, families and colleagues in highly complex situations
- Shape service models, pathways and standards that respond to population health needs and national priorities
- Influence practice beyond St Christopher’s through system leadership, partnerships and professional networks
- Play a key role in education, research, innovation and workforce development, helping to grow the next generation of advanced and consultant nurses
You will work alongside Consultant Medical colleagues as an equal clinical leader, contributing to shared leadership, organisational strategy and quality governance.
Why join St Christopher’s?

- A strong, values‑driven organisation that invests in leadership, education and research
- Opportunities to shape services locally, regionally and nationally
- A collaborative, multidisciplinary environment where nursing leadership is truly valued
About you
We’re looking for a senior nurse leader who:
- Is an experienced palliative care registered nurse with recognised expertise in frailty and dementia
- Works confidently at consultant or advanced practice level, with independent prescribing
- Is credible, influential and passionate about improving care for people living with frailty and dementia
- Has experience of service development, education and quality improvement
- Is motivated by collaboration, innovation and compassionate leadership
You will be NMC registered, educated to Master’s level (doctorate desirable), and able to demonstrate sustained professional impact beyond your immediate service.
