Glasgow Wind Band are recognised as one of the top symphonic wind orchestras in the UK, performing regularly across Scotland and maintaining a strong reputation for
musical excellence. The ensemble rehearses weekly (Monday nights) during the academic year and are committed to delivering high quality performances, fostering musicianship, commissioning new works and engaging audiences across the country.
We are seeking notes of interest for the role of Musical Director as the artistic leader of the Glasgow Wind Band. This role is responsible for shaping the musical vision of
the ensemble, directing rehearsals and performances, and inspiring a diverse group of dedicated musicians. The MD works collaboratively with the committee to plan repertoire, concerts, and long-term artistic development.
This is a highly rewarding position for an experienced conductor with a passion for both modern and classic wind orchestra repertoire, strong leadership skills, and the
ability to motivate and develop musicians of varying backgrounds.
