About the role
This role provides compassionate, needs-led, strengths-based early intervention and prevention support to children and young people (CYP) aged 0–25, their families, and carers across Warwickshire.
Key responsibilities
- Support children and young people through 1:1 supported self-help sessions.
- Promote emotional wellbeing through psychoeducation, assemblies, workshops, therapeutic groups, drop-ins, events, and one-to-one guided self-help interventions.
- Run group sessions, workshops, and mental health awareness assemblies.
- Help children and young people develop emotional resilience.
- Provide information about mental health to young people, parents, carers, and professionals.
- Listen to young people and ensure their voices are included in their support plans.
- Manage a caseload of clients, with support from your manager.
- Help children, young people, and families connect with community resources.
- Complete necessary data collection, including assessments and evaluations.
Essential requirements
- Experience working with children, young people, and families.
- Multi-agency working (including safeguarding and GDPR compliance).
- The ability to engage and communicate well with young people.
- Knowledge of children’s mental health.
- A relevant qualification (NVQ Level 2 or equivalent).
- Ability to engage children, young people, and families and build rapport, including those affected by trauma or disadvantage.
- A commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion.
- A commitment to listening to and involving young people in decisions about their care.
- Good verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skills.
- Full driving license and vehicle access for travel around Coventry and Warwickshire.

- Flexible working – Core hours are Monday – Thursday 9:00 am – 4:30 pm, and Friday 9:00 am – 4:00 pm

- Sick pay –On completion of a 4-month probationary period,Coventry, Warwickshire and Worcestershire Mind employees will be eligible to a period of paid sick leave.
