Description
To lead, plan and implement a technical coaching programme for the Oxford Brookes University Men’s Football 1st and 2nd teams. The men’s football club is made up of 4 competitive BUCS teams, with the first team currently competing in BUCS Tier 2. The club also coordinates a development squad and intramural programme to engage with the wider Brookes community. The Head Coach will be expected to deliver 2x weekly training sessions, likely to take place Monday and Friday evenings, and attend matches for the first team, which take place on Wednesday afternoons during term time. Key Responsibilities Design and deliver comprehensive coaching sessions for the 1st and 2nd team squads. Support individual players to reach their potential Provide tactical leadership and coaching for the 1st team during fixtures. Collaborate with the club committee to manage a fair and transparent trials process and team selection. Partner with student leadership to establish and maintain high-performance standards and discipline. Act as a mentor to volunteer and assistant coaches; support sports staff in future coaching recruitment. Foster a team environment that is positive, ambitious, inclusive, and competitive Criteria Minimum UEFA C License. In-date Emergency First Aid certificate. Proven track record in delivering sport-specific training and match-day leadership. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment. Knowledge of university sport structures (e.g. BUCS) and student-led environments (desirable).
