Men’s Football 1 st team Assistant Coach
Description
The post holder will deliver quality coaching, management, organising, delivering and monitoring performance to the University of Manchester’s Football Club and increase their performance in British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) and Manchester Football League (Step 7).
This role will be responsible for the assisting the coaching and management staff to enhance the performance level players within the club.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
• Deliver an effective coaching programme (in line with our club curriculum & playing philosophy) that helps improve the performance and experience of Football club members through well planned, developmental and engaging training sessions. (Using club session plan proforma)
• Plan and deliver an effective pre-season, including after the BUCS mid-season break in January
• Support in the delivery of club trials & support fellow club coaches
• Track and monitor player availability in 2 monthly cycles, so we can forecast and plan ahead
• On matchdays, ensure excellent organisation and a professional approach gives our players the best possible preparation and experience (Using club match planning sheets)
• Provide regular information & status reports, on team & individual performance & progress, to the Head Coach and other club coaches in our weekly coach meetings (usually online).
• Support our one club mentality & Academy model through clear and supportive internal club pathways.
• Work closely with the Coaching team, UoM Sport team and committee members to assist with the necessary admin, data collection and wider development of the Football Club at The University of Manchester.
• Support the organisation and delivery of the Club Presentation Evening (End of season)
• To promote our club’s core values through words and actions and ensure all our players follow our Player Code of Conduct.
• To ensure all sessions and matches comply with Health and Safety, and work within an equal opportunities framework.
