Membership Training & Engagement Officerto help strengthen and expand our SVP membership community.About the RoleAs Membership Training & Engagement Officer, you’ll play a key part in promoting our training, events, and resources—ensuring members feel supported, connected, and inspired. You’ll use your communication skills, especially across digital and social media channels, to increase engagement and attract new people into the life of the Society.
A major part of your role will be supporting our
Young Vincentian Development Officers (YVDOs)—recruiting, training, and equipping them to work effectively with schools and young people. You’ll also help deliver high‑quality training opportunities, coordinate events, and contribute to the wider mission of the Membership Services team.This is a varied, people‑focused role where no two days look the same. Key Responsibilities-
Promote training, events, and resources to members and prospective members across digital platforms.

Plan and manage engaging social media content for the Membership Services team.

Create inspiring content that highlights the impact of SVP’s work and encourages involvement.

Recruit, onboard, and support Young Vincentian Development Officers.

Coordinate and deliver training for YVDOs to help them engage effectively in schools.

Organise and promote training opportunities, including monthly webinars.

Maintain and update training materials on the Knowledge Hub.

Plan and deliver events from start to finish, including logistics and on‑the‑day leadership.

Respond to member enquiries by phone and email with warmth and clarity.

Support the Requests for Help team when required.

Undertake occasional school visits to promote engagement.

Contribute to weekly team meetings (with monthly in‑person attendance).

Monitor and report on engagement metrics to support continuous improvement.

Participate in one week of a children’s camp during the summer.
We’re looking for someone who is:
-
Experienced in organising events, training sessions, or similar activities.
-
Confident presenting to groups of adults and young people.
-
Skilled in using social media for communication and engagement.
-
Able to work with young people in formal or informal settings.
-
Highly organised, proactive, and able to manage a varied workload.
-
A strong communicator with excellent written and verbal skills.
-
Comfortable working both independently and as part of a supportive team.
-
ICT‑confident, especially with Microsoft Office.
-
Flexible, with a willingness to travel and work occasional irregular hours.
-
Able to build positive relationships with adults and young people.
-
Comfortable delivering prayer or activity sessions in a Catholic context.
-
Sympathetic to the Christian aims and values of the SVP, and respectful of people of all faiths or none.

Experience working in a parish, school, or church environment.
-
Experience recruiting or supporting volunteers.

Knowledge of Catholic life, practice, and social teaching.

Familiarity with Vincentian spirituality.

Experience with video editing or digital content creation.

Understanding of membership‑based organisations.

Ability to manage website pages.

A degree in marketing, youth ministry, education, or a related field.
