About the Role
Interested in getting started in marketing and communications? Do you have some basic knowledge of using HTML/CSS? We’re looking for someone to join our team as a Marketing Assistant (Digital), supporting a wide range of digital marketing, communications, and promotional activity across Newcastle University Students’ Union.
This is a varied, hands-on role where no two days are the same. One day you might be writing, building and scheduling email campaigns, updating website content or uploading content to digital screens across campus. Another day could involve helping set up campaign stalls, collecting print materials, supporting events, brainstorming campaign ideas with the team, or assisting with wider promotional activity around the Students’ Union.
We’re looking for someone who enjoys a mix of creative and practical tasks, has strong attention to detail, and is comfortable juggling lots of different jobs at once. You should enjoy writing student-facing content, have a good eye for digital content, and be confident using online platforms and learning new systems.
Working closely with the Marketing Manager and wider Marketing & Communications team, you’ll gain hands-on experience across digital marketing, content creation, communications, websites, campaigns, and student engagement while contributing your own ideas and creativity along the way. Full training will be provided, but a basic understanding of HTML/CSS is desirable.
