Marketing and Communications Officer
Salary : Full time salary between £27,000 to £31,000 dependent on experience
Responsible to: Senior Marketing and Communications Officer
Location: Blythe House Hospice , Eccles Fold
Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week, part time hours will be considered (minimum of 30 hours per week)
Key responsibilities
Confidently use Canva to design and produce a wide range of marketing and publicity materials, ensuring all content is accurate, high quality and consistent with hospice brand guidelines and corporate identity.
Use Mailchimp to create, build and distribute email communications for external audiences, staff and volunteers.
Receive training in, and use, the hospice's CRM and donor management system (Beacon) to record relevant interactions and maintain accurate records in accordance with GDPR and organisational procedures.
Monitor and report on marketing activity, assisting with the production of monthly and quarterly performance reports using agreed key performance indicators to evaluate campaign effectiveness and inform future activity.
Ensure all marketing and communications activities reflect the values, mission and strategic objectives of the hospice.
• Undertake any other duties appropriate with the grade and responsibilities of the post, as reasonably requested by the Senior Marketing and Communications Officer.
Digital marketing
Create engaging daily content for the hospice's social media channels, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X and TikTok .
Confidently u se social media scheduling platform, Buffer for content planning and scheduling .
Confidently monitor and reply to comments and messages across social media platforms and escalate where appropriate/ if needed.
Plan, create, film and edit video content for use across digital channels, including social media and the hospice website.
• Monitor the performance of digital marketing activity .
C ontribute to the evaluation of campaigns to inform future communications strategies.
Written communications
• Write creative, accurate and engaging copy for a wide range of audiences and purposes, including website content, social media posts, newsletters, emails, press releases, leaflets and other printed materials.
Create and distribute email communications using Mailchimp for external audiences, staff and volunteers.
Collaboration with hospice te ams
Act as the first point of contact for routine marketing and communications requests from colleagues across the
organisation, including website and social media updates.
Work collaboratively with teams across the hospice to identify communication opportunities and support organisational objectives.
Ensure all communications accurately reflect hospice services, activities and priorities.
Working with patients and families
Assist with identifying, interviewing and writing compelling stories featuring patients, families, volunteers and staff to support awareness and fundraising activities.
Handle sensitive information and interactions with compassion, professionalism and in accordance with GDPR and organisational procedures.
Website
Manage and update the hospice website using WordPress, ensuring content remains accurate, accessible, engaging and up to date.
• Support colleagues with website content updates and ensure all online information reflects current services and activities.
Hospice events
Attend hospice events, fundraising activities and occasional out -of -hours events to capture stories, photography and video content.
Support the promotion and communication of hospice events across digital and print channels to maximise engagement and awareness.
Child protection and vulnerable people
