You will be supporting Mikey, who is a 29 year old male who lives in his own home in Northbourne. Mikey has limited vocabulary and communicates through a mixture of PECS cards, choosing boards, body language and short phrases.
He enjoys a range of activities, such as:
- Going out for food, particulary Fish & Chips or Harvester
- Listening to music
- Enjoying a kick about with the football
- Getting out in the fresh air, especially walking around Badbury rings or Kingston Lacy
Mikey is supported on a 2:1 basis and receives 24/7 care. He relies on his support staff for assistance for personal care, meal preparation and medication, which he received three times per day.
At the heart of everything we do is promoting the independence of the person we support, so maintaining a consistent routine, along with clear and firm boundaries, is essential to supporting Mikey effectively.
