Salary: £33,000 per annum (pro rata)
Contract: Fixed Term until March 26th 2027, Part Time

Role Overview:
Reporting to the Head of Events, the Makerspace Duty Manager will play a key role in supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the Makerspace within the mini hub at Victoria Library.
The Makerspace is a dedicated creative community space designed to provide local residents with access to engaging arts, crafts, and creative workshops. The successful candidate will help foster a welcoming, inclusive, and inspiring environment for all visitors, encouraging community participation and creativity.
The role will involve planning and delivering arts and crafts workshops that inspire and engage a diverse range of audiences, supporting individuals to explore and develop their creative skills.
In addition, the Makerspace Duty Manager will oversee the administrative functions of the Makerspace, including liaising with workshop tutors and facilitators, ordering materials and supplies, and processing invoices and purchase orders to ensure the efficient operation of the space.
Responsible for the coordination and delivery of the Makerspace programme, working alongside the Hub Duty Manager who oversees the wider site operations.

Main Duties/Responsibilities:
Community Engagement & Experience
- Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for all members into the makerspace
- Develop and execute initiatives to increase member engagement and retention.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for community members.
- Gather feedback and continuously improve the member experience alongside Community Hub team.
Programming & Events
- Support in the coordination and host workshops, networking events, meetups, and community gatherings, as the makerspace programme grows
- Manage event logistics including scheduling, promotion, and follow-ups
Operations & Administration
- Oversee hub operations (if physical space), ensuring smooth functioning.
- Track community metrics (engagement, attendance, growth, satisfaction).
- Manage budgets related to community activities and events.
- Maintain member database and CRM tools.
Monitoring & reporting:
- Maintain accurate attendance and engagement data
- Support monthly reporting and contribute to quarterly/final evaluation
- Gather participant feedback to inform programme development
Safeguarding & compliance:
- Support safeguarding practices and inclusive delivery
- Follow GDPR/data protection processes
- Work in line with health & safety requirements
Skills and Experience:
- Experience in community management, operations, events, or related roles.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and project management abilities.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities.
- Experience managing coworking spaces, startup ecosystems, or innovation hubs.
- Familiarity with CRM tools and community platforms.
- Experience in partnership development.
- Basic budgeting and reporting skills.
