ROLE SUMMARY

This role sits at the heart of the North Location team, helping to build organisation, connection, and healthy team culture.

Working closely with the North Location Pastor, you will support the leadership and coordination of Sunday teams, while also helping to strengthen midweek community, systems, and communication that support church life throughout the week.

A key part of this role is ensuring that The Hippodrome is well cared for, safe, compliant, and ready for both Sunday services and weekday use.

You will also play an important role in developing strong team rhythms, supporting volunteers, and helping people feel connected, welcomed, and empowered in church life.

This role is based in North London, with occasional travel to other locations when required.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

MIDWEEK RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support leaders and group leaders with coordination and communication across the location
  • Follow up on key updates and internal requests, ensuring appropriate action is taken
  • Connect with new people during the week to help them integrate into church life
  • Meet with volunteers to encourage engagement and support team health
  • Help oversee ChurchSuite processes for follow-up and integration
  • Complete and manage DBS checks for volunteers
  • Act as a point of contact for safeguarding concerns, ensuring timely reporting and follow-up
  • Support safeguarding training and awareness across volunteer teams
  • Work with teams to identify resource needs and support procurement where required

SUNDAYS

  • Gather and report Sunday team and attendance information
  • Help ensure first-time guests are welcomed and supported into next steps
  • Coordinate with team leaders during the week to ensure Sunday teams are prepared and resourced
  • Support group and team leaders to ensure strong hosting and connection experiences
  • Assist with MC moments and preaching where required by the Location Pastor
  • Help develop and strengthen Sunday team structure (Hosts and Connections)
  • Take responsibility for closing the Hippodrome building after services

BUILDING & FACILITIES

  • Support upkeep of The Hippodrome, including maintenance reporting and routine checks
  • Liaise with building maintenance partners where needed
  • Ensure adequate first aiders and fire wardens are in place and trained
  • Complete incident and accident reporting within required timeframes
  • Support health and safety processes, including risk assessments and venue safety checks
  • Communicate any changes that may impact insurance or compliance

SYSTEMS

  • Concur: Support submission of location expenses for approval
  • PS Online: Assist with purchase orders and invoicing for approval
  • ChurchSuite: Act as a superuser, supporting people flows and training users
  • Joyned: Support communication to leaders, teams, and groups across midweek and Sundays
  • Microsoft 365 (SharePoint): Ensure correct access and GDPR-compliant handling of data
  • Join Team process: Support onboarding steps and safeguarding/GDPR refreshers

LARGER GATHERINGS

  • Support the Location Pastor at larger events (Conference, Sisterhood Conference, Carols)
  • Serve on additional event teams as required

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Other tasks may be assigned from time to time in line with the needs of the location, including events and conferences

Experience & Skills

  • Experience in operations, administration, coordination, or team leadership
  • Experience working with volunteer teams
  • Event coordination or organisational experience is beneficial
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lead, support, and develop teams
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and adaptable approach

Education & Training (desirable but not essential)

  • Qualification in Business, Operations, Events, or similar field
  • Health & Safety training or willingness to complete
  • First Aid certification or willingness to complete
  • Safeguarding training or willingness to complete
  • Project or event management experience is a plus
