About the Role

As a Lived Experience Recovery Volunteer, you'll work alongside our team to provide encouragement and practical support to people accessing our services. By sharing your experiences appropriately and acting as a positive role model, you'll help individuals build confidence, engage with recovery and move towards achieving their goals.

Full training, regular supervision and ongoing support will be provided.

Key Duties

  • Welcome and support people accessing our services.
  • Use your lived experience positively to inspire hope and recovery.
  • Build supportive, professional relationships with service users.
  • Assist with recovery-focused groups, activities and community events.
  • Signpost individuals to appropriate services and opportunities.
  • Encourage people to engage with their recovery plans and personal goals.
  • Promote inclusion, wellbeing and independence.
  • Maintain appropriate professional boundaries and confidentiality.
  • Attend volunteer meetings, training and supervision sessions.

About You

We'd love to hear from you if you:

  • Have lived experience of recovery and feel ready to use your experiences to support others.
  • Are able to communicate with empathy, respect and without judgement.
  • Can maintain appropriate boundaries and confidentiality.
  • Are reliable, committed and willing to learn.
  • Enjoy working as part of a supportive team.
  • Are passionate about helping others realise that recovery is possible.
