BFI is seeking Expanded Hosts for the BFI London Film Festival (LFF)

Fixed Term Contract: 28 September  – 19 October 2026

BFI is looking for LFF Expanded Hosts to welcome all audience members to the exhibitions and events, relay key information prior to viewing, and provide contextual details if needed. The Hosts will also support the smooth running of the exhibitions, including assisting audience viewing sessions for immersive and interactive artworks and relaying any necessary safety and artistic information about the works they are viewing.

BFI London Film Festival (LFF) runs an Industry & Professional Programme of screenings, events, networking and informal marketplace for around 3,500 film industry professionals alongside the main public festival.

What you’ll do

  • Act as front of house, greeting guests, giving welcome briefings, checking tickets, and providing excellent customer service.
  • Onboard and offboard guests into the experience, using the script given for the specific piece. Optimising the audience’s comfort and ensuring the equipment is running correctly.
  • Assist the technical and production teams, providing support for the XR exhibition where needed, flagging issues for attention in a calm, professional and methodical manner.

What you’ll bring

  • Work experience gained within a cultural organisation, events or other related organisation, either in a paid or voluntary capacity.
  • Experience in delivering excellent customer service, managing issues diplomatically and resolving concerns with sensitivity and professionalism.
  • Keen interest in XR, VR, AR or other immersive technologies (please also mention in your application if you have experience in the operation of VR headsets, immersive or stage technical equipment)
