UHI Perth is one of Scotland’s leading Colleges of Further and Higher Education, and a large partner in Scotland’s newest University, the University of the Highlands and Islands.

We are looking for an Aviation Lecturer to join our growing team to support the delivery of our Engineering programmes. At UHI Perth we offer a suite of Engineering courses from craft level to degree, at SCQF level 4 to 10. You would teach predominately at levels 7 to 10.

The post involves the design and delivery of online teaching, along with periodic in‑country teaching in China of up to two weeks at a time, as part of our international programme portfolio, in addition to on‑campus teaching duties.

The campus is well resourced to deliver a first-class learning experience with a well-balanced mix of lecture theatres, classrooms, laboratories and training workshops. As a lecturer you will contribute to shaping the future of the next generation of engineers through teaching and other scholarly activities such as research and consultancy.

Within your area of specialism, you will design and deliver learning, teaching and assessment activities; provide both theoretical and practical instruction; supervise student project work; and contribute to the continuous development of engineering programmes.

Candidates must hold, as a minimum, a master’s degree in an engineering‑related discipline, ideally with an aviation focus. Relevant industry experience or knowledge of the Part 66 syllabus would be highly advantageous. Previous teaching experience is desirable, along with the ability to contribute to teaching across a broad range of engineering and aviation subjects. Applicants should be self‑motivated, proactive, and possess strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team. A clear commitment to student learning and an up‑to‑date understanding of current industry engineering requirements are essential.
