Role Purpose
The Learning & Development Coordinator plays a key role in developing the knowledge, skills, and confidence of our workforce, enabling colleagues to deliver safe, effective, and person-centred support across all services.
Working in partnership with operational managers, the People & Culture team, and subject matter experts, you will lead the coordination and continuous improvement of learning and development initiatives that support high-quality service delivery, regulatory compliance, and positive outcomes for the people we support.
We are particularly interested in candidates who understand the learning and development needs of staff working within mental health, healthcare, supported housing, social care, or other clinically informed environments. A formal clinical qualification is not required.
What You'll Do
Build Capability Across the Organisation
Identify current and emerging learning needs across services and develop solutions that strengthen workforce capability.
• Coordinate engaging learning opportunities that support professional growth, confidence, and high standards of practice.
Support managers and team leaders to embed learning into day-to-day practice and create a culture of continuous development.
Lead Learning and Development Programmes
• Coordinate mandatory, specialist, and developmental training programmes aligned to organisational priorities.
Support the design, delivery, and evaluation of learning initiatives focused on areas such as mental health, safeguarding, trauma-informed practice, risk management, recovery-focused support, and person-centred care.
Ensure learning resources and materials remain relevant, evidence-based, and aligned to best practice.
Develop Internal Training Capacity
Coordinate and support Train the Trainer programmes to build internal expertise and sustainable learning capability.
Empower managers and internal trainers to confidently deliver, reinforce, and champion learning within their teams.
Promote knowledge sharing and collaborative learning across services.
Drive Quality, Compliance and Continuous Improvement
Monitor training compliance and maintain accurate learning records.
Analyse learning data, audit findings, incidents, feedback, and regulatory developments to identify priorities and opportunities for improvement.
• Support organisational compliance with regulatory, contractual, and quality standards.
Evaluate the effectiveness and impact of learning initiatives and use insights to enhance future programmes.
Build Strong Relationships
Develop effective partnerships with managers, support workers, senior staff, and external learning providers.
• Provide advice, guidance, and coaching that supports professional development and service excellence.
• Act as a trusted partner in helping teams translate learning into improved practice and outcomes.
