The ExtraCare Charitable Trust are looking for a Learning and Development Trainer!

Love learning? Love people? Love making a difference?

If you’re passionate about helping others grow, bringing learning to life and creating brilliant learner experiences, this could be your next move. At ExtraCare, we create better lives for older people by building vibrant communities where people can thrive. We’re looking for an energetic, creative and people-focused Learning and Development Trainer to help shape learning across the organisation and support colleagues to be at their best.

Why join us?

At ExtraCare, learning is a big part of who we are. Our Belonging at ExtraCare strategy is all about creating a culture where diversity is celebrated and everyone feels they truly belong, with a strong focus on providing equitable career development and training.  We’re also proud to hold Investors in People Gold, recognising our strong culture, shared values and commitment to continuous improvement.

About the role

This is a varied and rewarding role where you’ll design, deliver and continuously improve learning across induction, statutory and mandatory training, management development, digital learning, apprenticeship support and wider colleague development. A big part of the role is bringing statutory and mandatory training to life, making essential topics practical, engaging and memorable for learners. This includes areas such as safeguarding adults, fire safety, first aid, train-the-trainer moving and handling, and mental health awareness.  You’ll work across face-to-face, virtual and online environments, creating learning that is accessible, relevant and impactful. No two days will be the same, and that’s part of the fun.

Location: Head Office, Coventry, CV3 2SN; with extensive travel to our locations and occasional overnight stays.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Salary: £38,000 per annum, plus car allowance of £3,500 per annum

Job type: Permanent

About you

You’ll have strong experience in a Learning & Development or training role, with the confidence to design, deliver and evaluate effective learning for different audiences.

We’re looking for someone who brings:

  • Excellent facilitation, presentation and communication skills.
  • Creativity, energy and a passion for helping people grow.
  • Experience of blended learning, digital content and learning platforms.
  • Strong organisation, flexibility and the ability to manage different priorities.
  • A positive, inclusive and solution-focused approach.
  • A Level 3 Award in Education and Training, or equivalent, or willingness to work towards this.

Benefits of the role include;

  • 25 days annual leave, plus bank holidays
  • Contributory pension (up to 9%)
  • Buy and sell holiday
  • Free life insurance
  • Attendance reward
  • Free use of on-site location gyms

Ready to join us?
