An expectation of this role would be to be involved in gathering and creating content for the magazine and also to support with the design and delivery of a lived experience training programme which will cover:
- Reporting methods / techniques
- Responsible storytelling
- Different types of storytelling
The role:
As a Lead Content Creator, you will be part of a small, supportive team creating Waythrough’s external magazine. You will work alongside a Creative Designer, Managing Editor and Community Editors to help shape a magazine that showcases the best of Waythrough and puts the stories and voices of people we support at the heart of every edition.
This role will lead on creating quality content from lived experience contributors and will support a small team of community reporters. It is highly flexible and designed for people who want to build confidence, share their experience and contribute to meaningful storytelling.
Tasks may include:
- Supporting the creation of content for both the magazine and social media
- Sharing your insights to help shape articles, blogs and case studies
- Working with campaign leads to feed lived experience into national campaigns
- Helping find, gather or suggest stories from the wider lived experience network and Working Together groups
- Contributing ideas when the team plans each magazine edition
- Reporting on events or activities when invited and when it feels right for you
- Offering suggestions on themes and topics that matter to people with lived experience
- Attend meetings with the Communications Team to link with campaigns, discuss ideas and future editions.
(You can take on tasks at your own pace - there is no pressure to do everything.)
