Centrepoint, the UK’s leading youth homelessness charity, is looking for a Jobs & Education Advisor to join our Jobs & Education Team based in London.
We help vulnerable young people by giving them the practical and emotional support they need to find a job and live independently. Centrepoint provides homeless young people with accommodation, health support and life skills in order to get them back into education, training and employment. We want to end youth homelessness by 2037.
Together with our partners, we support over 15,000 young people each year.
At Centrepoint Works, the Jobs & Education Team (JET) empowers young people to unlock their potential and build brighter futures. Our dedicated Advisors provide personalised careers guidance, practical employability support, and help with everything from choosing the right course to securing employment. Through tailored advice, skills development, and access to specialist opportunities, we support young people to achieve their goals and move confidently towards education, training, and work.
About you
- Hold a level 3 or above IAG qualification or equivalent
- Have strong written and verbal communication skills
- Respectful and empathetic, always considering the impact on our young people.
- Flexible, always adapting to changing needs, able to carry out lone working on a regular basis.
- Engaging, committed to self-development by engaging with training and continuous learning.
- Proactive, always looking for creative ways of working.
- Provide outreach across London
What you’ll be doing
- In person delivery of employability programmes and contracts as requested by management.
- Managing a caseload across London to provide: employment support to young people and/or unemployed clients, safe, quality outreach services by increasing appropriate referrals and supporting the retention of learners on internal programmes.
- Database management, face to face and telephone liaison at all levels.
- Maintaining partnerships with all relevant external agencies and responsibility for outreach across the London.
