Role outline and purpose
This is a customer facing role with the core function providing IT support. The postholder will be involved in the day to day running of the IT Department which includes liaising with all departments and delivering clear communication when managing IT queries.
The IT Technician is directly managed by the Director of IT Services.
The College is predominantly an MS Windows based site with a small number of Mac’s. The College is a full BYOD site and uses Office 365.
Role responsibilities
• Providing technical support as required by the IT Manager and IT Team
• Supporting customer queries received via the support line, email and face-to-face
• Maintaining Audio / Visual Equipment to a very high standard (once trained) for continuous use
• Facilitating and supporting events hosted by the College by assembling equipment and managing recording and live streaming sessions
• Ordering, receiving, stock checking and distributing stationery and resources
• Supporting the team to manage the Reprographics room, MFD’s and Printers
• Travelling around campus to support IT issues and queries
• Supporting the team to manage College electronic signage
• Administration of lT lost property and managing recycling
• Logging Tickets, assigning jobs to team members and completing first time fixes for customers
Person Specification
Knowledge of a range of Audio / Visual equipment
• An ability to work in a mixed environment (Windows, MAC iOS, iOS and Android)
• A good awareness of Microsoft Servers, portable devices and networking

We’ve been ‘widening worlds’ since 1922, when LWC was founded by Sydney Stern (Lord Wandsworth) to support orphans. In those days, this widening of worlds was very much a response to the fact that orphans’ worlds had contracted or collapsed very suddenly. The school expanded their opportunities, connecting them - via our vast acreage and farmland - with a path into agriculture.
These days, the future is far less known; vocations harder to predict. And so the need to widen worlds is more profound. We support and inspire students, around 700 of them, to be able to forge their own futures, each one more exciting and extraordinary than any goal they could have envisaged at the start. Wonderfully, our students’ successes make our world bigger too.
