IT Technical Assistant
Cardiff Students’ Union Facilities Department is looking for an IT Technical Assistant to join our team and help keep our IT equipment running smoothly throughout the year.
This is a great opportunity for a student with an interest in IT, engineering or computer science to gain hands-on experience in a busy working environment, develop your technical skills and build valuable experience alongside your studies.
You’ll be helping with the setup, maintenance and troubleshooting of computer equipment across Cardiff Students’ Union, as well as responding to IT queries and Service Desk requests.
Your work will include:
- Setting up and maintaining computers and other IT equipment.
- Troubleshooting technical issues and responding to Service Desk requests.
- Supporting staff and users with day-to-day IT problems.
- Helping ensure equipment is ready for key periods throughout the academic year.
- Working alongside the Facilities team to keep everything running smoothly.
Hours: Approximately 6–8 hours per week (based on business requirements)
Start date: As soon as possible
Priority availability: Fresher’s Fortnight – 21 September to 2 October 2026. Please confirm that you will be available for this period in your application.

- Gweithio ochr yn ochr â'r tîm Cyfleusterau i gadw popeth yn rhedeg yn esmwyth.
