IT Officer

CfBT Education Services employs a workforce of around 200 specialist English Language teachers recruited from overseas to work in schools across Brunei Darussalam. In close collaboration with its key partner, the Brunei Ministry of Education, CfBT is committed to delivering high-quality education to primary and secondary students nationwide. The organisation is also supported by a dedicated team of local administrative staff providing services in HR, Welfare, Finance, IT, and Property and Facilities.

CfBT Education Services is seeking a proactive, customer-focused IT Officer to join its IT team. The successful candidate will provide day-to-day technical support to office staff and teaching personnel, ensuring the smooth operation of IT systems and infrastructure across the organisation.

The role involves responding to IT helpdesk requests, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, supporting network and system maintenance, and assisting in the implementation of IT solutions that enhance operational efficiency. The IT Officer will work closely with colleagues within the IT Department as well as other administrative teams at CfBT’s Kiarong office.

The successful applicant should already possess the relevant knowledge, experience, and technical skills outlined in the job description and be able to quickly adapt to the demands of a fast-paced educational environment.

This position is open only to Brunei Nationals or permanent residents.

Required Knowledge and Experience

  • Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Experience in IT support, helpdesk operations, or systems administration
  • Knowledge of computer hardware, software installation, troubleshooting, and basic networking
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365, Windows operating systems, and common business applications
  • Possession of a full and valid Brunei driver’s licence
  • Other requirements as per the job description

  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills to effectively interact with non-technical staff and explain complex IT concepts in simple terms.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • A creative mindset to problem-solve, innovate and improve IT processes and  solutions.
  • Ability to deliver excellent customer service to both internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong troubleshooting skills to quickly identify and resolve technical issues.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to new technologies and changing business needs.
