At HARV (Hyndburn and Ribble Valley Domestic Abuse Service), we are committed to identifying,
supporting and protecting adults and children affected by abuse, exploitation and violence.
We are expanding our team and are looking for passionate, skilled and committed individuals who
share our values and want to make a lasting difference in the lives of children, young people and
victim-survivors across Lancashire.

Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA)

Salary: £25,000 – £29,572 per annum (dependent on qualifications and experience) + 8% pension
As an IDVA, you will provide specialist advocacy and support to victim-survivors experiencing
domestic abuse who are assessed as medium or high risk. You will undertake risk assessments,
safety planning, crisis intervention and multi-agency advocacy, ensuring survivors remain at the
centre of all decision-making.

  • Understand the impact of domestic abuse, trauma and safeguarding
  • Are passionate about empowering individuals and improving outcomes
  • Can build strong professional relationships and work effectively with partner agencies
  • Demonstrate empathy, resilience and excellent communication skills
  • Share our commitment to equality, diversity, inclusion and anti-oppressive practice

Additional information

All roles are based in Accrington, Lancashire, and require flexibility to work occasional evenings and
weekends to meet service needs.
A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential for most roles.
Enhanced DBS checks will be required.
