IBAT | External | £36,000 to £40,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience

We are seeking a Biodiversity Engagement and Outreach Officer to join the IBAT team, working at the interface between biodiversity and the economy.

This is a commercial role at the forefront of the business and biodiversity space. You will own the sales cycle for the Integrated Biodiversity Assessment Tool (IBAT) - the world's leading biodiversity data platform - from prospecting through to close, building a pipeline across corporates, financial institutions, consultancies and platform providers. You will grow subscription revenue against annual targets, deliver compelling demonstrations of the platform, and articulate how IBAT answers each organisation's business and regulatory needs, including TNFD-aligned nature risk assessment and disclosure.

In equal measure, you will help customers succeed. Through training, responsive support and long-term relationship building, you will ensure organisations can apply authoritative biodiversity data to assess their risks, opportunities, impacts and dependencies - and act on credible nature strategies.

You will be a public face of IBAT, representing the Alliance to industry and conservation communities alike at conferences, webinars and high-level forums including the Conference of the Parties (COPs). Supported by experts from four of the world's most influential conservation organisations - BirdLife International, Conservation International, IUCN and UNEP-WCMC - you will use your commercial skill and your passion for nature to expand IBAT's reach into new sectors and regions.

The revenue you generate is reinvested into the global datasets IBAT is built on: the World Database on Protected Areas, the World Database of Key Biodiversity Areas and the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species. Commercial success in this role translates directly into better biodiversity data for everyone.

The role is based at UNEP-WCMC in Cambridge, with the IBAT team co-locating in person for approximately three consecutive days each month, and involves occasional travel in the UK and internationally.
