The role

Calling all HR professionals.  If you like to be both hands-on and influencing strategically, then this is the position for you! Our people are at the heart of achieving our vision for Pioneering Science for the Health of our Ocean. Join us in an exciting period of growth and as we move into the implementation phases of a new strategy. We are looking for a highly organised and forward-thinking HR Manager to help shape, support, recruit and retain the talented individuals driving our mission.  

This is a newly created role which will be hands-on and varied, leading on key processes and working closely with colleagues across the organisation. You will line manage the HR Officer, enhance and modernise systems and processes, and ensure compliance with current legislation and best practice. Reporting to the Director of Finance & HR, you will be a key part of building the MBA’s capacity in this crucial area.

Salary and benefits

  • Salary based on experience
  • 30 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays (pro rata)
  • 3 Privilege Days given by the MBA (used during festive closure week)
  • Sick pay
  • Pension scheme – the MBA will contribute 10% of basic salary into a defined contribution scheme with staff making a 3% minimum contribution. The MBA will match additional employee contributions up to an additional 5%
  • Cycle to work scheme
