1. Job Summary

Reporting directly to the Assistant Director of HR, the HR Manager will take ownership of a broad HR remit, delivering best-practice people solutions across the employee lifecycle. This role is suited to a confident, self-starting HR professional who can operate autonomously, drive change, and support a modern, compliant, and high-performing HR function.

As a key member of the management team, you will lead the people agenda, support operational delivery, and ensure an outstanding employee experience while mitigating organisational risk.

3. Key Tasks

Line manage, coach, and develop a small HR team.

Lead on complex and sensitive employee relations cases with a fair, consistent, and commercially focused approach.

Leadership & HR Function Ownership

Drive a high-performance, accountable, and inclusive culture.

Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders and managers.

Employee Relations & Compliance

Coach and support managers on ER matters and people management.

Ensure full compliance with UK employment law and HR best practice.

Lead HR audits including Right to Work, GDPR and employment documentation.

Build, implement, and maintain robust HR policies, procedures, and frameworks.

Manage organisational risk and liaise with external legal advisers as required.

Maintain compliance across workplace ethics, Health & Safety, security, and environmental responsibilities.

Facilitate effective working relationships with Trade Union representatives.

Performance, Learning & Engagement

Drive performance management frameworks and improvements.

Lead employee engagement initiatives to foster a positive employee experience.

Reward & HR Operations

Support salary benchmarking, pay reviews, and benefits processes.

Manage the employee lifecycle from hire to exit.

Provide comprehensive HR generalist support across the organisation.

HR Systems, Data & Reporting

Modernise and improve HR systems, processes, and automation.

Implement scalable, efficient HR workflows.

Produce HR reports, dashboards, and people insights to support decision-making.

5. Communications

To support the Assistant Director HR to produce bi-monthly reports to the Board of Directors on key HR areas such as change management, re-structuring, absence management retention and employee relations.

To ensure effective communication with all staff on relevant HR matters.

To attend meetings as required.

To ensure effective employment relationship management – seek to build and maintain trusting relationships with staff at all levels of the organisation and promote a positive culture within the organisation.

6. People Management

To provide values-based leadership for employees and teams to perform at their best in building and sustaining a high-performance culture.

To act as a role model and ambassador for Kisharon Langdon values and leadership behaviours.

To work in accordance with HR policy to resolve disciplinary issues, grievances and performance management ensuring issues are addressed as required.

To lead on recruitment and selection of new staff in partnership with the Assistant Director HR.

To identify and address knowledge or skill gaps and encourage training and personal development of self and the team.
