Housing Support Worker
Location: Elliott Court, Rotherham
Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Working Hours: 39 Hours Per Week, Monday - Friday
Salary: £26,490.00
An exciting opportunity to join the team at Elliott Court in Rotherham.

Job Purpose: To provide high quality housing management and support to vulnerable individuals, to deliver a holistic support to promote independence and to work in collaboration with partner agencies to achieve successful and sustainable move on.
Duties and Responsibilities
Support:
- Identify and deliver person centred support
- Case work a small caseload of individuals focusing on successful, independent move on.
- Develop professional relationships with a range of external agencies to collaboratively deliver support.
- Develop move-on plans identifying realistic move-on options, make referrals to other support agencies as required and review progress
- Actively engage with clients on a 1:1 basis, promote activities and meaningful use of time.
Housing Management:
- Liaise with RMBC Accommodation Officers and support clients to gather the necessary evidence to facilitate positive move on.
- Support clients to maintain and sustain their accommodation whilst working towards more independent accommodation.
- Support clients to complete documentation including move on applications, tenancy agreements, property inventory, applications for housing benefit.
- Support clients to maximise their income, ensuring that housing and other welfare benefit claims are submitted and maintained.
- Support clients to set up their utilities and maintain their accommodation.
- Help deliver an in-house training package to assist with move-on.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience of providing support to vulnerable people in a housing environment.
- Experience of working with individuals who have multiple and complex needs.
- The ability to develop positive and proactive working relationships with hard to engage clients.
- Experience of delivering Trauma Informed support.
- Knowledge of the Housing benefits and welfare benefit system.
- Experience of Safety Planning / Risk Assessment and Support Planning.
- Basic IT skills and effective case work.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Essential Requirements:
- Target Enhanced DBS or Evidence of Update Service
- The Right to Work in the UK (UK Passport, UK Birth Certificate or ECS Check)
- 2 Employment References (1 must be from your most recent/current employer)
