The Vacancy
We are looking for a proactive and customer-focused Housing Officer to provide a high-quality housing management service to leaseholders and shared owners.
You will act as a key point of contact for home ownership customers, ensuring services are delivered in line with lease obligations and that customers are actively involved in shaping service delivery. You will work across teams to resolve issues, improve service outcomes and ensure a consistent customer experience.
Key responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact for leaseholders and shared owners, ensuring services are delivered to a high standard and in line with lease agreements
- Deliver an effective housing management service, including estate inspections
- Manage reports of Anti-Social Behaviour, working with internal teams and external agencies where appropriate
- Support and manage customer expectations in a clear and professional manner
- Work with Neighbourhood and Customer Accounts teams to provide a joined-up service, including support with payment queries and service charge processes
- Liaise with Asset Management and Maintenance teams to ensure repairs and maintenance are carried out in accordance with lease requirements
- Work with the Section 20 officer to ensure customers are informed and involved in decisions relating to major works and cyclical maintenance
- Provide advice and support to colleagues on leasehold management and assist with training where required
- Maintain accurate records and provide reports to managers, customers and stakeholders
What we’re looking for
- Knowledge of housing law and leasehold/shared ownership management
- Experience in a housing, leasehold or property management customer-facing role
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines under pressure
- Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive and innovative approach
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Good IT skills and confidence using systems and databases
- Strong commitment to customer service and continuous improvement
This is a flexible role and can be based from home or one of our hub offices. You'll need a flexible approach to travel, as regular site visits will be required. A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle for business use are essential. Our operating region includes Hampshire, Wiltshire, Somerset, Dorset, Devon, Cornwall and London.
