15hrs p/w - term-time only. 5.30am - 8.30am - Mon to Fri. NJC3 £8,313.40
General:
Mary Hare educates profoundly deaf children at its residential school in Berkshire and we pride ourselves on our pupils’ achievements at GCSE, A Level as well as B Tech and Vocational Courses. We offer the opportunity to teach highly motivated children, in small classes, where you can make a real difference at this national centre of excellence for deaf education. No knowledge of sign language is required, as we follow an auditory/oral philosophy.
The Role:
The Housekeeper will work as part of a team to perform a variety of regular and one-off cleaning tasks and duties as directed by the Senior Housekeeper. Mary Hare is a very successful well-presented, well maintained school along with all other business’ such as; Arlington Arts, Summer School and Arlington Laboratories.
Purpose:
To provide a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness throughout the School and businesses whilst working both in small teams and individually.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness of your designated area and for maintaining high and consistent standards
- Take initiative to perform cleaning and tidying tasks that are not specifically contained within the rota but require attention as part of maintaining overall high standards
- Liaise with the Senior Housekeeper and other members of staff as required to ensure the cleaning rota operates smoothly around both school events and outside lets
- Report cleaning supply requirements and stock levels to the Senior Housekeeper
- Ensure Health and Safety, quality and general procedure compliance
- Work as part of a team and support other members of the Housekeeping team to meet standards and school objectives
- Report any Health and Safety issues to the appropriate persons
