The role:

BH Live is recruiting for a Hospitality Operations Manager to join our team at Fairfield Halls. Fairfield Halls sits in the heart of Croydon, one of Greater London’s largest commercial districts and the Mayor of London’s Borough of Culture in 2023. We operate the venue in partnership with Croydon Council, providing a diverse programme of cultural entertainment, business, and community events. Renowned for its world-class acoustics, the venue also hosts national and international orchestras for rehearsals, recordings, and performances.

The Hospitality Operations Manager is responsible for the delivery of retail catering, events, bars and hospitality banqueting operations across various live events, conferences, exhibitions and private hires including the day to day running of the hospitality areas.

As part of the operational management team and reporting into the Senior Operations Manager this role holds responsibility for ensuring adequate staffing levels are achieved for events including recruiting and training teams. Implementing procedures to manage stock levels and responsible for ensuring that food hygiene and company compliance processes are followed and adhered to.

You will also ensure staff are selling and serving alcohol as per licencing laws and conditions of our licence.

You will:

  • Be responsible for the full venue when undertaking the duty manager role, being hands on planning and during events whilst ensuring the safety and enjoyment of all our guests.
  • Act as part of the management team and be key holder for Fairfield Halls, which can include management response to emergencies which may occur outside of your working hours.
  • To be responsible for the day-to-day operation of catering, bar, cafe and conference events.
  • Support the Senior Operations Manager and Operations Manager in the running of events and venue operations.

To be successful you will need:

  • A Food Hygiene Certificate Level 3
  • Experience in managing bars, cafés, and hospitality in a similar environment
  • Personal Licensee Certificate
