Summary of Role:
Working alongside the Director of Sport and Head of Hockey in delivering a clear and progressive hockey programme for all ages and abilities. To take responsibility for, and contribute to, the coaching of hockey teams within the school. This will include Saturday matches alongside weekly games/training sessions and fixtures.
Specific Responsibilities:
• Assist the Head of Hockey to lead the hockey programme from participation to performance, ensuring that there are playing opportunities for all pupils.

To plan and deliver day-to-day coaching plans for the hockey coaching team, with a clear focus on enhancing the technical and tactical development of individuals and teams
To contribute to the performance analysis of individuals and teams, using video analysis tools (Veo) to review key performance indicators; provide players with feedback in collaboration with the Head of Hockey
To ensure all pupils’ experiences, at any level, are positive and enjoyable
• To communicate with pupils and parents on important issues such as team selection and playing/training commitments
• To assist with the planning of hockey fixtures
• Alongside the Head of Hockey, assist in the delivery of a comprehensive off-season and pre-season programme for all hockey players
• To lead co-curricular activities at lunchtime and after school
• To be an ambassador for hockey and help raise the profile of Woldingham’s hockey in the local area and beyond
• To work alongside the Head of Hockey in maximising the school’s outreach potential, looking specifically at links with local schools, clubs and pathways
• To assist coaches with the analysis of video and feedback to performance teams.
To liaise with the strength and conditioning team to ensure that appropriate access, guidance and challenge are provided for hockey-playing pupils.
Assist the Head of Hockey with administrative tasks.
Ability to confidently umpire hockey fixtures at all levels.
• To undertake relevant mandatory and statutory training and development as required
• To administer basic First Aid, if required, and be willing to assist pupils
