The British Red Cross are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive individual to join our Oncology Transport Service team as a Support Worker. This exciting position is for someone who has excellent interpersonal and communication skills and is able to lead and motivate people.

Somerset’s Oncology Transport Service provides vital transport to people who are living with cancer. You'll be helping them to attend appointments for chemo and radiotherapy treatment, at Musgrove Park Hospital, Taunton and Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre. Working as part of a small and fast-paced team, you will play a crucial role in understanding people’s transport needs and helping to fulfil them. 

  • Transporting patients to and from hospital appointments.
  • Supporting service user whilst they are receiving their cancer care.
  • Have a full UK manual driving licence with access to a vehicle and Business Insurance.
  • Have a good knowledge of services provided by the NHS and Social Care.
  • Be able to make things great. You know how to improve service quality for the benefit of users.
  • Be professional. You can deal with queries in a diplomatic and confidential manner.
  • Love being flexible. Working hours out with the norm suits you.
