Details

The purposes of the Head Physiotherapist role are to manage and delivery daily assessments, treatment and rehabilitation of all male and female players within the CACT further education and football academy. Working with CACT coaches, an external strength and conditioning team and in some cases external physiotherapists working with players to deliver an effective plan to enable players to reengage with their football provision as safely as possible.

  • To provide daily assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of players on the CACT Post 16 programme (male & female)
  • Assess and manage injuries and illnesses to ALL players across the programme.
  • Provide treatment and rehabilitation to players. To provide pitch-side medical cover for team training sessions and matches.
  • To assist in the provision of emergency first aid during fixtures as required. Provide rehab sessions to injured players through group training before games commence on matchdays (typically Wednesdays)
  • Ensure all medical emergency equipment is audited on a weekly basis and serviced in line with manufactures standards.
  • To collate weekly, monthly, and yearly injury audits for performance group players.
  • Ensure all medical records are completed and stored in line with guidance.
  • Design and deliver individual injury prevention programmes.
  • Communicate with parents/carers in the event of physiotherapy / sports therapy queries, generally, and specifically to their children.
  • Advise and direct other staff on the needs of players.
  • Attend case management meetings and provide professional opinion /input
  • Educate coaches on the physiotherapy / sports therapy provision, and how to help players get the best from it.
  • Operate within professional boundaries and follow agreed processes relating to referrals to other colleagues / agencies.
  • Must ensure adequate cover for players needing ongoing rehabilitation through the off season and lead on injury prevention strategy.
  • Deliver S&C sessions as part of the injury prevention programme and performance enhancement system.
  • Working with the academy manager, manage a team of intern physios from a university partner, arranging hours, tasks and feedback.
  • Upholding and promoting the Club’s policies and procedures, including Health and Safety, Safeguarding and Equal Opportunities policies and procedures.
