Welcome to Pownall Hall School.

Step through our gates and you’ll feel it straight away – this is no ordinary prep school. Pownall Hall is a place where tradition meets adventure; where beautiful, historic walls echo with laughter and the sound of muddy boots racing across the fields.

We are a community bound by purpose: pupils, teachers, families, governors, and friends all working together to nurture remarkable young people. Our children achieve exceptional academic results, but more importantly, they grow as individuals – resilient, unique, and ready to thrive in the world beyond our doors.

The Role: Head of Prep

We are seeking an experienced and capable leader to take on the role of Head of Prep, leading Key Stage 2 (Forms 3 to 6) and joining the Senior Leadership Team.

You will work closely with the Headmaster, Deputy Head Academic and Deputy Head Pastoral to support the ongoing development of the school.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support teaching and learning across Forms 3 to 6
  • Maintain high expectations of behaviour and pastoral care
  • Support, develop and hold staff accountable across the phase
  • Contribute to the strategic direction of the school as part of SLT
  • Work with parents to ensure strong communication and partnership
  • Lead and organise events across the Prep phase

This is a role that requires clarity, consistency and a strong understanding of prep school life.
