Based in Swansea, the role will be responsible for driving patient referral growth and revenue through strategic relationship development, local market engagement, and proactive business development, building strong partnerships with healthcare referrers and the wider business community, and promoting our hospital services through events, campaigns, and targeted sales initiatives.
- Design and implement a local business development strategy to increase patient referrals and revenue, engaging with GPs, primary care, allied health professionals, and healthcare networks to strengthen referral pathways.
- Monitor local market trends, competitor activity, and pricing strategies to ensure the hospital remains competitive, responding proactively to changes in NHS and competitor provision and identifying opportunities to position our services effectively.
- Develop, plan, and deliver a programme of on-site hospital events, consultant-led educational talks and presentations, and engagement activities with referrers, community groups, and businesses.
- Develop partnerships with local businesses to promote HMT's private healthcare services to their employees, negotiating preferential packages and building strong links within the local business community, including chambers of commerce and networking groups.
- Work closely with the central Marketing and Business Development teams to deliver campaigns that enhance brand awareness and patient acquisition, coordinating local communications activity including social media content, website updates, and local press and media relations — in line with HMT Brand Standards and Policy.
- Ensure all activities comply with relevant regulations, including Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) guidelines, maintaining an up-to-date understanding of healthcare market regulations and ethical referral practices.
- Work some evenings and weekends where required to seize opportunities and maximise enquiry volumes.
- Proven experience in customer sales, business development, or account management (healthcare sector desirable).
- Exceptional communication skills with a varied audience, and the ability to adapt communication style to meet the needs of the recipient.
- Strong networking and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work on own initiative, with a proactive attitude and the ability to adapt to change at pace.
- Experience engaging with healthcare professionals, corporate clients, or insurance providers.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and deliver successful events, sales, and business development initiatives.
- Qualified to degree level, or able to demonstrate equivalent ability through written and verbal communication.
