Sense has a fantastic opportunity for someone to join our team as our Head of fundraising and marketing operations. This is a full time, hybrid role, working 37.5 hours per week based at our offices in Kings Cross, London on a 6 month fixed term basis and are open to considering applicants wanting to work 4 days per week.
The Head of fundraising and marketing operations will have both a strategic and operational role, combining expertise in database management and analytics with the ability to identify opportunities and build positive and beneficial relationships with potential and existing supporters.
The successful candidate will manage three areas: CRM, which is responsible for the Fundraising customer relations management database and all associated imports, hygiene tasks, user training and marketing selections; Insight, which is responsible for providing insight and analysis for the department via Power BI; and the Supporter services team which is responsible for delivering a consistently excellent supporter experience across all channels.
Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership
- Provide leadership to the CRM, Insight and Supporter Services teams, developing a high-performing, collaborative culture.
- Contribute to the strategic direction of the Fundraising and Marketing directorate as a member of the leadership team.
- Develop business plans, budgets and forecasts, monitoring performance and driving continuous improvement.
CRM & Data Leadership
- Act as System Owner for Microsoft Dynamics, ensuring the platform is fully utilised and delivers maximum value.
- Champion CRM adoption across the directorate, embedding it as the single source of truth for supporter engagement.
- Oversee supporter data governance, ensuring compliance with GDPR, Gift Aid requirements and fundraising regulations.
- Lead the ongoing development and integration of supporter data to create a seamless supporter experience.
Insight & Supporter Experience
- Drive a culture of data insight and evidence-based decision making through reporting, analysis and Power BI.
- Ensure supporters receive an outstanding experience across every interaction with Sense.
- Lead the delivery of effective supporter services and operational excellence across all channels.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Build strong relationships with colleagues across Sense, supporting fundraising and marketing teams to maximise performance.
- Manage key supplier relationships, ensuring excellent service and value for money.
- Drive improvements to systems, processes and ways of working that increase efficiency and strengthen supporter engagement.
You will be an experienced operational leader who understands the vital role that data, technology and supporter experience play in successful fundraising.
You will bring to the role:
- Significant leadership experience within fundraising operations, CRM or supporter services.
- Extensive experience managing and optimising Microsoft Dynamics or similar CRM platforms.
- Strong knowledge of database marketing, segmentation, supporter insight and campaign data.
- Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams and developing high-performing cultures.
- Strong understanding of GDPR, Gift Aid, fundraising regulation and supporter data governance.
- Proven experience managing budgets, projects and organisational change.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
- A collaborative leadership style and a passion for using data and technology to improve supporter engagement and fundraising performance.
Experience within a fundraising or charity environment is highly desirable.
