Go Abroad Ambassadors, Directorate of External Affairs (EXT100S)

Go Abroad Ambassadors play a key role in internationalising the student experience at the University of Aberdeen. We have ambitious targets in this area and are keen for more of our students to have the opportunity to spend time abroad as part of their studies.We believe it is important for our prospective and current students to have access to fellow students who have already studied or worked abroad. Our team of Go Abroad Ambassadors act as peer supporters, demonstrating that an international experience is attainable for students from all kinds of backgrounds.

Job Description

The University also welcomes approximately 350 incoming exchange and study abroad students every year. The Go Abroad Ambassador team are closely involved in orientation and ongoing support for this cohort.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Creating content for our social media accounts and website to raise awareness of study/work opportunities abroad and promote the University as a study abroad destination
  • Assisting with the organisation of; and representing at; virtual and physical events such as the Go Abroad Fair, Pre-Departure, Open Day & Offer Holder Day and drop-in sessions to promote opportunities to go abroad.
  • Producing presentations and talks, drawing on personal experiences, and delivering these to audiences virtually and in-person to provide a student perspective
  • Supporting incoming exchange students through assisting at Orientation and Registration events
  • Leading campus tours to incoming exchange students as well as representatives from the University of Aberdeen’s partner universities
  • Option to take on the role of “champion” for one or more of our under-represented groups

Salary will be at the appropriate point on Grade 1, £13.45 per hour.
